In this fast-paced world, it is a daunting task to manage a manual record of the criminals. A Criminal Record Management System is a computer or web-based system that facilitates managing the criminal records, official records which helps to increase the efficiency of the police. This system or software will help in making the whole functioning paperless. It integrates all the information regarding crimes, criminals, police officials and registering an online complaint into one software. Our project “THANA – A Criminal Record Management System” includes adding, modifying and deleting record of a criminal as well of the concerned police officer. Our software has the facility to access the contact details of emergency services and major police officials and to register an online complaint. The criminal record management system is duly protected with access control which can only be modified using the Login Id and Password. More functionalities to strengthen security shall be added as we move forward. The police official can search every detail about a criminal’s past history whereas a guest can only see the name and the photograph of the criminal. We will be using C programming to implement this and its access shall be provided through Website and iOS app.
